Euvon's Story

I'd never tolerated my body telling me what to do until suddenly, at fifty-nine-years-old, it called an exective board meeting without consulting me first.  It served me notice by forces I was unaware of regarding changes I wasn't in control of, and by pain that couldn't be masked nor exercised and medicated away.  I walked around in denial with a limp from hip pain I couldn't conceal, back pain I tried to ignore, and a loss of appetite that couldn't be rationalized away.  And although I wouldn't admit it, my gradual loss of energy defeated my iron will.  For the first time in my life, I felt like I'd lost control of this great God-gifted physical specimen.

A series of tests, including an MRI, CT Scan, and biopsy, confirmed that my psa (prostate specific antigen) which is normal at level 4, had tested at 398!  I was given a death sentence of metastatic prostate cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes and bones.  My wife, Janet, and I were shocked and devastated, and I came under the care of Dr. Nancy Dawson, Director of the Genitourinary Oncology Program at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital.  Since I didn't qualify for chemotherapy or radiation, I was prescribed bone mass enhancers and hormone therapy.  I also participated in a clinical trial called Provenge in which, over a six-week period, some of my white blood cells were extracted from my body, transported to a lab and strengthened with nutrients.  Three days later, they were returned to the hopsital and infused back inside me to fight the cancer cells.

My wife, meanwhile, began a concerted attack against the cancer on the home front.  She removed toxic foods and other products from our home and replaced them with those that were natural and organic.  Today, miraculously, through  God's mercy and grace, the MedstarGUH state-of-the-art treatment options, and Janet's diligence in changing our nutritional and environmental lifestyle, my psa level is 0.1, which is considered undetectable.

Praise Him!!
